This is a more accurate screening tool than the traditional NHS combined test and can be used instead of the combined test, simply provide your midwife with the lab report sent to you after your NIPT

It detects the following chromosomal abnormalities from baby’s DNA in your blood:

• • Down syndrome
  • Edwards syndrome
  • Patau’s syndrome
  • Optional sex chromosome abnormalities

You can opt to include the gender of your baby from the same blood sample if you wish.

Dichorionic twin pregnancies can only have the standard NIPT screening and not Sex chromosome testing. This and sex identification is only available for singleton and monochorionic twin pregnancies.

An ultrasound scan must have been carried out prior to having this blood test. If you choose to have bloods only then we need to see your ultrasound report prior to obtaining your blood sample.

Upgrade for the package to include an ultrasound scan with us for an extra £30 (normally £60)

We have butterfly needles in clinic for the more delicate of veins.

Remember – I have almost 10 years of blood taking experience.

Results arrive within 5-7 working days.

I will call you with your results and then send you a copy of your lab report following our phone call.

Should you receive a high risk result, genetic counselling can be arranged.

Please attend your scan and blood test at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment as there is some paperwork you will need complete first. A full bladder helps us achieve clearer images.
